Thermoplastic Road Marking Paint

Colourful road markings help to draw the eye which in turn will save lives by grabbing the attention of the general motorist alerting them to potential hazards. Common road markings in the UK include white lines, yellow lines, cross-hatching, zebra crossing, arrows, bus lane, bike lane, and written directions and instructions e.g. “SLOW.”In addition to their visual impact, yellow lines on UK roads, represented by the yellow hex code hashtag #FFFF00, play a crucial role in regulating parking and ensuring the smooth flow of traffic. All these and more make sure drivers are aware of potential hazards and keeps the traffic flowing as smoothly as possible. When learning to drive, drivers are required to study the highway code which explains what the different road markings mean. At Swift Surfacing, we provide a thermoplastic marking service with all these markings. We can go over markings which have begun to fade and also create new ones. Our thermoplastic markings are high quality and will last a long time which we know is important especially for busy roads with lots of wear and tear. For more information, please do not hesitate to contact a member of our team today.

Thermoplastic Playground Markings

It is a known fact that children’s minds need to be stimulated through exercise and activities whilst they are growing up and learning. A great way to encourage this is by having various different outdoor games available through the use of playground markings.

You can also use contemporary fun markings as educational aids, encouraging participation and imagination.

We use Therma Mark surfacing which is not only durable but slip resistant and easy to apply. For our full range of educational playground surfacing markings we can provide, please view our brochure.

Car Park Line Marking

Having clear line markings in your car park is very important because they make your car park a safer place as well as showing users where to park. Having clearly marked spaces can prevent your car park from becoming too over packed and gridlocked, or from cars taking up too much room and making the most of your space. You want your customers to have a pleasant experience during their time in your car park to encourage them to use it again. Easy access in and out of clearly marked parking spaces will ensure this. Clear line markings can also help designate certain areas of the car park like loading bays and disabled spaces. Another idea is to mark a path for pedestrians to keep them safe and out of the way of vehicles. Car park line markings can also be used to direct traffic flow with arrows and markings for the entrance and exit. This will prevent accidents from occurring.

Bad weather and general time can leave your line marks looking faded or completely disappearing. When this happens, it could result in users parking in the wrong place and over the lines because they are not clearly visible. So much of how people judge your business is based on looks and first impressions, a freshly surfaced and lined car park also gives it an aesthetic appeal. Car park maintenance is part of what determines the value of a property. So if the car park is not properly maintained, the value of your property may take a hit. Swift Surfacing Ltd offers a line marking service and uses Therma Mark surfacing which is durable, slip resistance, and easy to apply. Enquire now or give us a call today.

Thermoplastic Markings FAQs

Thermoplastic markings are a type of surface marking that uses thermoplastic paint, meaning the paint is heated up before it’s applied to surfaces such as roads, car parks, pedestrian crossings and playgrounds. Thermoplastic markings are durable and long-lasting.

Thermoplastic road marking paint, also known as hot melt marking paint, is a type of power paint which is used on roads and other tarmacked surfaces. The powder is heated up to 200°C by a hot melt kettle to become a liquid, and it’s sprayed onto the surface. After cooling down, the top forms a thick polymer layer.

The paint can come in any colour, and it’s commonly found as white or yellow markings. However, colours like blue, red and green are also commonly used.

Thermoplastic markings can be used on roads for a wide range of markings, including centre lines, double yellow lines, zebra crossings, bus lanes, written instructions and arrows.

They’re also used in car parks for line markings, directional arrows and disabled parking spaces. Playgrounds and pedestrian walkways can also use thermoplastic markings.

The biggest benefit to thermoplastic markings is how long they last. Because they’re not applied like traditional paint, it means they’re able to last much longer. Paint will wear down easily on busy roads and in busy car parks, but thermoplastic markings won’t, meaning you can save time and money by not having to repaint.

Another benefit is the anti-skid nature of thermoplastic markings when glass beads are added to the mixture. They can be used on roads and pedestrian walkways.

The cost of each project depends on the size and scale of the work required, as well as the specifications too. The best way to get an accurate costing is by contacting us directly, where you can receive a quote for how much thermoplastic markings would cost in London, Kent and beyond.
